What a glorious month April was with our Celebration of Easter and our most beautiful Daffodil Campaign. This wonderful community raised over $1000 under the guidance of our Grade 3’s to support Cancer. The true spirit of giving and care of one another came alive in this initiative. How very proud we are of the commitment and heart work!
We also celebrated the gift of our Artist in Residency. This year Donna Boomer with the assistance of one of our parents, Jenn Boyer, led us on an amazing mask making extravaganza. Art was alive for two weeks and we saw the process evolve and culminate in a beautiful Parade of Masks. So important that we have the support of our SAC in matching the grant that makes this possible. With that we extend a huge thank you to our SAC and all the parents and relatives who supported the two day Casino which translates to thousands of dollars of support for all your children. Their commitment and dedication is the reason we are able to provide so many fieldtrips and learning supports.
With 8 weeks remaining, we prepare our Grade 6 students for writing Part A of the English Language Arts Provincial Achievement Tests on Wednesday, May 13. As well our yearly Feast Day is coming up. This year we celebrate as a catholic community by going to Mass on Friday May 29th and having a barbeque on Monday June 1st.
We continue to be very proud of this community and its many blessings as seen in your children as they become 21st century learners & social justice leaders. Stay in touch as we make plans for the great learning that lies ahead.
