As November is upon us, we prepare each day to embrace winter as it approaches and the mornings are colder. We shared in the joy of the first snowfall of winter this week as a school community, rolling snow balls and experiencing nature once again in a whole new way. It was wonderful to see the joy being shared at recess.
It is of course a month of remembrance. November is the month of the Feast of All Saints, the Feast of All Souls and Remembrance Day and so we give thanks and we pray for all those who have gone before us and have given their lives for us. On Wednesday, November 5 at 10:45 a.m., we will gather in our gym with Father Carlos and remember all those men and women who gave their lives for our freedom. Families are always welcome to attend. We also very honored to be part of the No Stone Left Alone Initiative on Thursday, November 6th where all our grade 3 students will be representing the headstones of 34 soldiers whose lives were lost representing our country. Please visit www.nostoneleftalone.ca/ for more information. We are so proud to be part of such an outstanding Canadian Memorial that takes place in several provinces across Canada.
Report cards will be going home on Friday, November 28 at the end of the day, followed by our Demonstration of Learning on the new date of Thursday December 4 from 1-4 and 5-7pm. Our Scholastic Book Fair will also be happening that week and volunteers will be needed to make this event a success.
As always if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s education, please call the school to make an appointment with your child’s teacher. Please contact us, the admin, anytime if you have any concerns or questions. This is a beautiful community to serve in and we look forward to being here every day!
